Weight Tree
palm tree bent with weight of snow?
my 8 or 9 foot palm tree has bent right over with the weight of snow on it, it hasnt snapped and broken but seems irrtreaveably damaged, can i cut it off and regrow it some how ? can i plonk it in a bucket of water and hope for the best ? will it grow roots ?
Leave it alone. Most trees that survive in areas that get snow know how to deal with the weight. They are flexible and will come upright when the sap begins to flow again.
Have you ever seen film of palm trees in a hurricane? The winds bend them over 90 degrees. If they can stay rooted, once the hurricane is gone, they recover nicely.
