Are all door frames strong enough for pull up bars?
I was thinking of buying those pull up bars that install in a home door frame but im about a little over 200 pounds and im guessing pull ups like that would damage the door frame, will it? My door frame doesn’t look that strong, and im renting my place out so im being cautious but idk if i am overthinking it.
You know, I have frequently wondered about that issue myself. So rather than speculate I asked my remodeling contractor. He says that a door frame can support 300 lbs in the middle and more at the sides where the top is closer to the verticals. That is why they say to stand in a door way in an earth quake if you are in a building. A door frame is strong.
