What is the speed of a decent amateur freestyle swimmer?
SWIMMING new to me, but have been training Over the past 6 months in a half ironman race on the following January. Today I did 1900 meters in 37 minutes (0:01:58 / 100 meters) to 80% Heart Rate capacity. I'm wondering whether this is acceptable or not. I know that professionals do not 5k an hour I can only do it 3k at the time, but still always … Also, how to improve my swim?
If you swim 1900 meters, it is better than the average, most people can not swim, if that does not take many breaks. So any time that the distance is "good."
