Foot pain (arch)?
I live in a city not having access to good physios / coaches. I’m a reasonable distance swimmer, who’s been at it 6 days a week. I’ve recently broken the monotony by switching to a 3/3day swim/walk-run workout on alternate days. I took precaution of a steady walk of 1 week before actually running. I’m still restricting to a walk of 30 minutes, injected with 3 runs of 2 minutes each. My arches are normal, but they hurt. The pain is not unbearable & strangely takes just 2 days to heal. My running is on asphalt road & my form seems ok (no knee / back or ankle pain). However, I do have a tight hamstring, which I ease out by stretching before the run. Another problem is I drive to work after a 2-hr break after my run. The manual clutch for gear shifting in my car puts further strain on my left arch. Is there a way to avoid this arch pain ? For want of any further information, my shoe is Adidas Adistar Cushion 5. I’m male, 5 ft 11 inches & weigh 134 lbs. Someone please help.
I am not really familiar with injuries but all i know is proper stretching before and after ur workout and warm up and cool down jogs of about 10mins are good for reducing injuries. If the pain gets worse i think you shud rest first and see how it goes before going back to physical activities.

Certainly, the compelling need to wake up hours before coffee time and run farther than most people care to drive in one stretch is something few non-runners really grasp. The stares you get when talking about running a marathon, a half marathon, or even a distance of miles in the plural form are enough to keep you feeling peculiar and … |
