Smith Machine
Which way to face using an angled smith machine?
My trainer has me doing smith machine reverse lunges on a bosu ball. She told me to face one way but I was later approached by someone at the gym who feels that a person should be facing the other way. He had valid points and was only truing to be helpful. Can somebody please tell me which way the angle should be going?
The angle of the bar should be in line with the angle of your Upper Body when you’re in a squat position. I would think that other way around could seriously injure you spine.
Better yet why not do your split squats with dumbbells? If you’re doing this on the bosu then you’re training for balance and stability and should be working with Very Light weights and high repetitions.
The smith is good if you’re working with heavy weights and don’t have a spotter, to avoid injury.
Maybe you need a new trainer
