Professional Quartz
I believe i’ve found a diamond?

Yet I took it to a PROFESSIONAL jeweler (serioulsly, they had guards that were guarding the doors and a secret room and things)
and the first lady took the diamond (i still think it is) and its half the size of my fist, and thick… and the lady was like “either quartz or glass” and it couldnt be quarts, i’ve studied rocks… and why would glass be as thick as the piece i have, and why does it not break or fog?
and then she comes up to this other lady and asks her what SHE thinks it is, probably glass or quartz right? and she winked to the lady and the lady said she’d take a test on it in the back, and she went back their, came back and their was a chunk taken out of the rock and she was like “we just tested it, its glass”
I dont know I think thats suspicious because they could have given the chunk back like a normal jewler.
I think they just jacked a piece diamond off me.

Diamond is not particularly hard to identify (if the alternatives are quartz and glass), there wasn’t really any need to take it to a jeweller. If you’ve “studied rocks” as you claim you should have easily been able to identify it yourself.

That aside, I kind of doubt that it’s a diamond just from the size. Diamonds the size of half a fist are incredibly rare and would be noticed pretty easily if they were just lying around. It also depends on where you found it, gem quality diamonds are restricted entirely to kimberlite and lamproite intrusions so if where you found it is not within one of those then it’s highly unlikely to be a diamond.

You could get it tested somewhere else, you could also just try scratching it with a piece of quartz (which if it doesn’t scratch would eliminate both glass and quartz as possibilities). Another thing you could do (and yes this does sound wierd) is put it in your mouth, diamond has a very high heat capacity and thermal conductivity so it should feel cold. It’s also very good at repelling water and sticks to grease and oil, a common way of sorting diamonds in industry is using a grease pan, the diamonds stick and everything else doesn’t.

Like I said before, I seriously doubt it’s diamond but if you feel that strongly about it then go and ask them to give the chunk back.

One more point though, just for information:
Liberals Will Destroy America said “it most likely was glass as diamonds are hard and do not break easily and it is very doubtful that is was a diamond”

This statement is wrong. Diamond is very hard but that does not relate to how easy it is to break. It is difficult to scratch it but it cleaves fairly easily so a blunt impact would be able to fairly easily dislodge a chunk.
