Basketball performance affected by Weight Lifting?
For some reason I feel really sluggish when I play basketball on certain days. Most of the time when I’m feeling sluggish, its the day after I lifted. Is it because lifting drains a lot of energy out of me? I’m usually pretty sore the day after my workout. Can lifting affect your basketball performance?
I spread my workout through monday, thursday, and saturday. Two muscles a day, and usually 10-12 reps for each exercise. Nothing too intense.
of course it would affect your game, but why would you work your body to the fullest on the same day your playing ball? Next time when you go to the gym and your training your legs, try jumping, youll notice your vert has gone down significantly. Usually when you go to the gym you would be working in a high intensity which would drain most of your power. You are working your red muscle fibers which work on your aerobic respiration which are your muscles that are durable for a long time(unlike sprinting – white muscle fibers) since they are all voluntary muscles they need time to rest. Your muscles become fatigued after a workout and your glycongen level will increase and thus making you tired
