Martial Art

What is the best martial art for short and stocky individuals?
Looking into getting into martial arts, but not really sure which one would be best suited for me. I am 5′4″ and I weigh 160 lbs, so I have a short and stocky build. Which martial art would be best for my build? Any honest opinion would be greatly appreciated.
Well, I’m 5′5 190 lbs, so i can relate my friend.
We have the perfect body for a grappler, short limbs that are hard to grab and lock, and a low center of gravity that makes us hard to throw.
Some grappling martial arts: judo, brazilian jiujitsu, japanese (or traditional) jiujutsu, wrestling, and there are other grappling arts that include striking as well, like shidokan karate, kajukembo and combat sambo.
Ironically even though I have a good body to be a grappler, I’m a striker, I’ve trained karate, kickboxing and Muay Thai.
Being shorter when striking only means you have to be quick and fight on the inside, you can fight effectively even if you are short.
Some striking martial arts:
muay thai, boxing, sanshou, Kyokushin Karate.
So it’s up to you my friend, you’d do well in grappling arts, but can still do well in striking arts, nowadays it’s good to know a bit of both.
good luck!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie $3.23 They skydive, they kickbox, they travel through space. Is there anything these crayon-colored teens can’t do? Battlestar Galactica: Season Two $10.96 In its own way, this soundtrack to the cult SciFi Channel series embodies all the trends of film and, to a certain extent, TV-scoring circa 2006. Alien universes and mysterious plots are suggested by exotic instruments like gamelans and taikos; an otherwordly woman comes in at regular intervals to vocalize esoterically (“Lords of Kobol”); and thundering percussions suggest action (“Scar”). It’s as… |

The Matrix [Blu-ray] $9.97 By following up their debut thriller Bound with the 1999 box-office smash The Matrix, the codirecting Wachowski brothers–Andy and Larry–annihilated any suggestion of a sophomore jinx, crafting one of the most exhilarating sci-fi/action movies of the 1990s. Set in the not too distant future in an insipid, characterless city, we find a young man named Neo (Keanu Reeves). A software techie by day a… |

13 Assassins [Blu-ray] $13.00 It stands to reason that there must be something pretty dastardly about the target of the assassination plot that makes up Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins; after all, an enormous amount of energy and planning goes into this effort.
