Ironman Triathlon
where’s the easiest ironman triathlon?
I’m looking into doing my first ironman triathlon in August/September/October and I’m looking for the flattest and least windy course in America.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could give me the names of a few that would meet my criteria.

PCB in November is the fastest in North America. Finish times will bear that out. Pretty sure PCB is sold out for this year though. Surest bet is to go down there to stand in line to sign up for 2010.
I think there’s a non-mdot one in Germany that’s faster. Used to be Ironman Germany, but not sure what its called now.
Great Floridian still has open slots this year. It’s an Iron distance, non-Ironman brand race in Clermont Florida in late October. The bike course is fairly tough though, with a climb up Sugarloaf that will get your attention.
Why not take a couple years and do it right? Put in the miles to get in Iron shape so your finish is more of a certainty, not dependent on the vagaries of course and weather!
