Asics Gel Kayano 12 vs 13?
Ok, so I’m looking to get into shape, and decided to buy a good pair of Running Shoe. I’d come down to Asics Gel Kayano 12 and Asics Gel Kayano 13. Now, 13 is $99 compared to 12, which is $79. Which shoe should I get? Is it worth dishing out $20 more to get the newer version than the old one? 14 is out of my range limit because its too expensive at $134. I’m just buying it to lose some weight and get back into shape, not train for a marathon or anything big. Which shoe should I get?

Oh and I want it to last, not run a bit a wear down and have to buy a new pair again… Shoes I usually wear last about 2-3 years, I want to get the best as possible, and not buy a good shoe that wears down as you run which is a waste of money.
There’s probably no difference except for the color or trim. Each year Asics bumps up the number. The 12’s cost $120+ when they first came out so go for them as long as they fit your feet and feel good. Otherwise, take a look at the Asics 21xx series. It is virtually the same shoe as the Kayano. The Kayano is Asics flagship shoe with all of their latest stuff but it is also very expensive. I have not found that it is any better than the 21xx (2100,2110, 2120, 2130).
