Exercise Tube
I have had my hamster a week and she is already bored and constantly nibbles the cage bars what can I do?
She has loads to nibble on and play with in her cage ie wooden sticks, plastic tubes, cardboard tubes, Exercise Wheel, seed sticks etc. She also goes in her exercise ball every eveing for a while.
Well, you can’t do anything. Hammies tend to bite the cage bars either because they want to get out, or they have to grind down their teeth which keeps on growing.
It is quite normal.
But if you really want them to stop, just apply Vaseline on the cage bars. They are safe to use, and your hammy won’t like the taste, thus will stop.
