‘lost’ Season 4 DVD Details
The huge epic following that Lost has created will surely be present long after every mystery is solved, every loose end is tied, and the show finishes airing. Today, online discussions abound dissecting every theory and phenomenon on the mysterious island and even more mysterious characters. As such, when Lost is no longer shown on TV, fans will surely want to have something to watch and pore over to once again relive the mind-boggling viewing experience that Lost has brought and sustained.
While the fourth and current season of the show is relatively shorter, with only 14 episodes due to the writers’ strike, it will still take a mighty seven months before the season will be released on DVD, specifically on December 9. Yet knowing Lost fans, they will wait. And judging from the recently released box art and the list of extra features, it is obvious that it will be worth it. In ten years’ time, it can easily be a collectors’ item.
While some shows prompt repeated viewing owing to some funny scenes or hilarious storylines, Lost is different. It practically demands repeated viewing because it is such an intricate show, with intricate plots and complicated storylines. Also, it has a lot of iffy nuisances and details that can easily be overlooked with just one viewing.
Other than the standard bloopers, audio commentary, and behind-the-scene features, the DVD will also have a segment provisionally titled Freighter Folk, which looks on, well, the folks on the freighter, and where they came from. Also included is a feature on the transformation of the primary filming location, Hawaii , to accommodate all the needed settings for the show.
Of course, some Lost fans think the $50 retail price is kind of steep, considering it lacks several episodes due to the writers’ strike. Other will probably opt to wait until the DVD set becomes available on eBay or just wait for someone to give it to them for Christmas. But either way, the DVD is going to be a necessary addition to any Lost fan’s collection.
