Boxing Heavy
Does anybody know of any gyms in Washington DC that have a heavy bag for boxing workouts?
I am looking for a gym that has all the normal facilities plus a heavy bag and Speed Bag for boxing type workouts. I have called around but so far I have had no luck. Is anybody a member of a gym that has such facilities? I would join a boxing club/gym specifically but they are geared more towards serious athletes that want to pursue boxing competitively. Thanks in advance.
In my experience, most “normal” gyms do not carry heavy bags as they say that there is insufficient interest to afford the expense and space. But don’t be afraid to check out your local Boxing Gym, as boxers are some of the nicest people in the sports world and will be totally accepting of people who want to box to workout rather than compete. Most of the gyms I have been a member of are made up of people just trying to stay in shape, with only about 25% being competitive fighters. You’d be surprised how many people come in just to workout, and end up sparring or even getting a fight….
