Ankle Strap
How should I strap up my ankle?
I’ve got x-country coming up at school and I’m really worried about my left ankle. I’ve torn the ligaments twice and every time I do x-c I end up twisting it and it hurts like hell. Is there any way I can strap it up or something to avoid this from happening?
Yes, there’s an ankle taping you can do that can make it really stable. I actually tore the ligaments in both my ankles at the beginning of my volleyball season, but I got this ankle taping done on BOTH my ankles every day, and I could play just like normal. If you have a school trainer, or if you know a Sports Medicine student, they will know this ankle taping. It’s a common Ankle Support taping. I wish I could come do it for you or something, haha I have to wrap people ankles everyday because I’m a sports medicine student.
If you don’t know anybody who can do this for you, you can just buy a lace-up brace, one that’s sturdy and won’t allow too much ankle movement. It should go 4 or so inches up from the bottom of the ankle to halfway down your foot.
